Homemaker Gone Natural

…live life naturally!

I began Homemaker Gone Natural as a way to share with others what I’m learning on my journey to health. I used to be over 300 pounds and living with fibromyalgia, polycystic ovary syndrome, bipolar disorder, fatty liver disease, irritable bowel syndrome, costochondritis, among other things… I was miserable, extremely fatigued, irritable, moody, lethargic, suffering huge amounts of pain, anxiety, and depression… I basically got out of the bed when I absolutely had to and slept most of my days away… this was while being treated by several different doctors and specialists.

I decided one day that I would NOT accept this as my reality.  And thus my journey to better health began.  It has been an ongoing, slow process that involves tons of researching and trial and error.  I eventually through better nutrition, chemical reduction and other natural changes was able to eliminate ALL prescription medicine from my life and feel better. I am now down over 100lbs (still have more to go to get to my optimal health) and I am more active, healthier, and happier. I am in the process of becoming a Health Coach so that I can help others, because that has become my passion. My hope is that this site can give others ideas on how to make foods and other products to help them be more healthy.

Some other things you may or may not find interesting about me:

  • Besides Homemaker Gone Natural, I also run Creations.. by Jen where I make handcrafted items to sell.  Most items are custom orders but I have some original pieces as well.  I have been doing Creations by Jen since 2007.
  • I am an avid video gamer. I love several different types of games and I have a great crew that I play with almost every day.
  • I homeschool my children, one has already graduated and the other two are not far behind. They are my pride and joy and I couldn’t be more proud of the young adults they are growing into being.
  • I like playing magic the gathering, dominion and other deck builder type games.
